ILLINOIS MEN'S VOLLEYBALL CLUB ...

• The IMVB consists of three different teams of varying skill levels.  Each team consists of about 15 players.  The BLUE TEAM is the most competitive, traveling to about 12 tournaments across the nation yearly.  The ORANGE TEAM travels to about 8 tournaments a year, and competes in the second divisions.  Both of these teams consistently rank at the top of their divisions in the Big Ten, Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA), and the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NCVF) (formerly the National Intercollegiate Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA).  Also very competitive in their division, the WHITE TEAM competes in local competitions, participating in about 6-7 tournaments a year. 

• IMVB has been in the Top 10 at NIRSA (Nationals) since 1997.

• The Illinois Men’s Volleyball Club was established 25 years ago in 1984 and quickly became one of the top collegiate men’s club volleyball teams in the nation.  Located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, it is one of the most popular registered student organizations.  Elections are held yearly to choose the club's governing body, which consists of a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer.  Tryouts are held every year in mid-September, where nearly 100 UIUC students come out on average.

• The Illinois Men’s Volleyball Club is a registered student organization at the University of Illinois that plays men’s volleyball.

• This team is composed of students from the University of Illinois and is designated as a club team because the University does not have a varsity men's volleyball team.

• The club is based at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and is a member of the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA).

• The club is divided into three teams divided according to level of competitiveness:

• BLUE TEAM - 1s

• ORANGE TEAM - 2s

• WHITE TEAM - 3s

• All teams in the club compete only in tournaments and there are no lone matches unless they are specially scheduled.

• Illinois Men's Volleyball Club Hosting Tournaments

• Host the Illini 16 Tournament, annually held in Champaign

• Co-Host the Hawkeye-Illini Classic with the University of Iowa

• Co-Host the Hoosier-Illini Classic with Indiana University.

• The club hosted an Exhibition match for the BLUE and ORANGE teams for the first time in 2008.  The Blue team played Purdue University while the Orange team played Illinois State University.
